Kate

Director, Nominated Supervisor, Educational Leader, Early Childhood Teacher

I have 10 years’ experience working in Early childhood education. I joined the industry in 2014 and gained my Diploma of Early Childhood, in 2021 I completed my Bachelor of teaching.

I have a nine year old daughter so as a parent myself, I understand how important it is to have a place to send your child, knowing that they are safe, nurtured and loved, which is why I am passionate about providing an enriching learning environment for all children to grow and develop as individuals as well as ensuring high quality care.

My role at Captain Bligh involves leading a wonderful team of educators to share my vision of an inclusive and supportive environment for children to be themselves, explore and discover new things each day as we are setting the foundation for a life long love of learning.

Selena

Second In Charge & Room Leader

Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

I have been in Early Childhood Education for 27 years.

I have a strong belief that all children deserve the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive, nurturing and positive environment. To ensure that children have the best opportunities, I believe it is a community effort involving 3 key factors that I aim to follow,

  1. Valuing and respecting the parents and families as the children’s first educators and work closely, in a positive partnership with them.
  2. Valuing and respecting the children as the leaders in their learning and actively hearing their voices and opinions and acting on them.
  3. Valuing and respecting the team of Educators that I work alongside by utilising all of our skills working together to help achieve the best outcomes for the children and families we support.

As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child”. A village of people working together in an environment of love, respect, support, communication and positivity.

Ashleigh

Room Leader

Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

I have been in the industry for 6 years, all here at CBELC and currently hold a Diploma of childhood education and care.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is witnessing the smiles on children's faces as they enter our centre each morning. Knowing that I play a part in fostering their excitement for learning and exploration fills me with so much joy.

Beyond my role as an Educator, I am also a dance teacher outside of the centre. This additional aspect of my life allows me to infuse creativity and movement into our learning environment, providing unique opportunities for your child's growth and development.

I am committed to creating a warm, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential.
